4 star Florence hotels in the city center

Today we will learn how to choose and book a good 4 star hotel in the center of Florence. In this review there will be only four hotels, without any extra options and compromises. I stayed in two personally, while the rest fell into the review on the recommendations of customers and readers ITALY FOR ME.

Where is the center of Florence?

Florence - the city is quite small and compact, and most of the attractions are within walking distance. Unlike Rome, where I recommend many good areas besides Termini Station, in Florence you just need to look for a hotel as close to Santa Maria Novella Station as possible.

We got off the train, after 100-300 meters we were at the reception desk, threw things in the room and went for a walk. The main attractions - the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore - 5 minutes walk, to the Ponte Vecchio bridge - 15 minutes.

Despite the fact that you can easily get around Florence in 2-3 hours, I recommend spending at least 2-3 days here - go to the Uffizi Gallery, visit the palaces, climb the Giotto's bell tower, just wander through the atmospheric streets and taste the Florentine steak. Get inspired and enjoy the city.

Just near the Santa Maria Novella station, the best, in my opinion, 4-star hotels are located. Keep in mind that the cost of living depends on the time for which you book (earlier, cheaper) and the season. So let's go.

C-Hotels Ambasciatori

C-Hotels Ambasciatori - I stayed at this hotel in April 2015 with Agnes and Carson, who flew to Italy on a honeymoon trip. It is located right at the exit from the station, which is incredibly convenient. I was pleasantly surprised by the choice of pastries for the morning breakfast and the atmosphere of the hotel. Separate credit for the lounge area on the second floor, where you can spend more than one evening in a good company of friends. An aperitif costs 10 euros, includes a glass of beer or wine, plus unlimited snacks to choose from. From the more expensive rooms on the upper floors there is a magnificent view of the city, but you can spend the night in the usual - cozy and comfortable.

  • Cost of living: from 180 to 400 euros / day for a double room, in low season and when booking for a couple of months, discounts up to 50%

Update: in December 2016 I returned to this hotel and again it met all our expectations.

Atlantic palace

Atlantic Palace - at this hotel we stayed for 4 days / 3 nights in August 2015 with our parents while traveling in Italy.

Bribed by the location of the hotel and the cost of rooms in the high season (only 170 euros / day), since in August in other versions of this review prices started from 500 euros per day. The staff spoke a little Russian, tried. The Internet worked in one of 2 rooms, but everything was compensated by the view from the window on the cathedral and the cozy atmosphere of the rooms.

  • Cost of living: from 150 to 449 euros / day for a double room

Grand hotel minerva

Grand Hotel Minerva - the hotel was recommended to me by many friends and tourists, and an average rating of 8.8 at the booking confirms once again the quality of this accommodation option. One of the main advantages is the rooftop pool overlooking the dome of the main cathedral of Florence.

Located next to the beautiful Basilica of Santa Maria Novella (Basilica Santa Maria Novella) in the homonymous square, 300 meters from the station. The only thing that stops me from booking this hotel so far is the cost of the rooms, which in the high season from May to October cheerfully starts from 500 euros. If your budget allows, do not even hesitate - this is the best option.

  • Cost of living: from 335 to 645 euros / day for a double room

Grand hotel baglioni

Grand Hotel Baglioni - luxury and dream. Just imagine what it is like to have breakfast on the terrace with such a view? The hotel opened in 1903, located in the former palace of Prince Carrega Bertolini, in whose chambers the rooms are located. Reviews with a rating of 9.2, Russian-speaking staff and an adequate price for a room - be sure to look at this accommodation option.

  • Cost of living: from 266 to 361 euros / day for a double room

How to get from Turin to Milan and / or from Milan to Turin

Although most Russian-speaking tourists arrive in Italy, bypassing Turin, in recent years, the Turin airport has increasingly accepted flights from the CIS. And since the capital of Piedmont is far from always being the course point for “ours,” BlogoItaliano decided to devote separate material to how to get from Turin to Milan and from Milan to Turin.

Rome in December

The beginning of December in Rome is traditionally a low season. Tourists are relatively few, and among those who visit the capital of Italy during this period, school trips prevail and those who like to save on accommodation and flights. Toward the end of the month, the situation is changing rapidly. On Christmas Eve, Rome is experiencing a true pilgrimage of tourists arriving from all over the world to take part in the celebrations in the Vatican.
